Project introduction
We are delighted to introduce our Sport and Wellbeing Centre. This investment will have a wonderful impact, not only for our current students, but for generations to come.About the Centre
The new Centre will be a state-of-the-art facility for our students – it will enable our students to be well, to learn well, to relate well and to thrive in their time at Roseville. It will feature an eight-lane 25-metre indoor pool, eight additional classrooms (including a flexible space for dance and functions), a strength and conditioning gym, a leading-edge nutrition and food technology space, three multipurpose outdoor courts, and underground car parking spaces to ease the demand on neighbouring streets. What stage is the project up to?
The plans for the Roseville College Sport and Wellbeing Centre were approved by the Independent Planning Commission on the 18 June 2021. The project is currently in the construction phase, with the facility planned for use in 2024.

How is the Foundation involved?
The Roseville College Foundation seeks to foster a culture of philanthropy in our community and to raise funds for the benefit of the school. The Foundation facilitates financial gifts to the school’s tax-deductible Building Fund which contributes to capital works at the school. For more information, click here.
How will it impact me?
During construction, we are committed to undertaking the necessary work in a manner which is as considerate, respectful and accommodating as possible. The project must comply with conditions in the SSD determination to ensure this process is managed well. We will keep our neighbours and our community informed with regular construction information.
- Neighbours: This includes frequent updates at this website, such as monthly construction notices, quarterly bulletins and community drop-in events.
- School community: This includes updates at this website and in our parent newsletter, and direct communication as necessary.

Does heritage conservation matter?
Yes. This has been our home since founding in 1908 and, in 2023, Roseville College marks 115 years located between Bancroft Avenue and Victoria Street. The local heritage and streetscape reflect our heritage, too. In recent years, the College has owned and preserved two heritage-listed properties, so is sensitive to the value of such buildings to the area.
For this project, heritage conservation was reiterated as a shared value during the community consultation process, and the approved architectural and landscape plans are considerate to local heritage characteristics in the streetscape.
- The three-storey facility is largely underground. Its innovative design evolved through community consultation to remain sensitive to the surrounding heritage conservation area and, above ground, a heritage-informed landscape design seeks to honour and preserve the ‘green’ character and qualities of the local neighbourhood.
- Beneath a modest street aesthetic are hidden much needed state-of-the-art facilities for Roseville College that align with the school’s focus on the wellbeing of girls, from physical fitness to nutrition and psychological health.
Architectural and landscape plans for the project can be viewed here, under A28(a) (i) Approved plans – Architectural (#1-13) and Landscaping (#1-6).
