Mollie Dive Hockey Champions

Thirty-two years in the making and won on our own terms, Mollie’s trophy was finally home.

The Mollie Dive Hockey competition is a prestigious schoolgirls tournament across Sydney’s North Shore and Northern Beaches. For Roseville College, it’s a deep connection to our own history as before becoming a dual-sport icon in hockey and cricket, Mollie Dive OAM was a Roseville College student (1921-27).

In Term 2, our Division A Hockey Team honoured that legacy by taking out top spot as the 2026 Mollie Dive Champions – our very first victory since the tournament began in 1994.

Going into the grand final undefeated, our girls faced a formidable Barker College side. With the sidelines showered with supporters from both schools, it was clear that the incredible display of high-level hockey that soon followed was not to be missed!

Following a tense, scoreless first half, the team regrouped to focus on what they do best: playing their way, backing each other, and refusing to back down.

The breakthrough came in a moment of true sporting excellence, when a defensive free hit was transformed into a goal in just five impressive passes. Moving from Fife Earnshaw and Emily Lyons at the back, through our dynamic trio in midfield (Grace Godfrey, Tyla Hill and Annie Barnes), the ball reached the lightning-fast Lily Brennan up front. The opportunity then presented itself with a loose ball at the top of the circle, and Piper Cox wasted no time, striking it beautifully on her reverse stick into the bottom right corner. With immense composure, the team held the lead to seal a historic victory.
